Executive Editor
Jain Spirit
|

|
| Dr
Atul K Shah is the Executive Editor
of the international magazine Jain Spirit,
which he founded. The magazine is read
by thousands of people worldwide and
influences people's lives positively
and spiritually. Many young Jains are
now seeing their own tradition in a
new light. There is a regular inter
faith section in every issue, giving
space to other religious traditions
and trying to build bridges with spiritual
seekers worldwide. The magazine is part
of his work to educate, translate and
inform the modern world about the ancient,
peaceful tradition of Jainism. He is
a qualified Chartered Accountant with
a PhD from London School of Economics.
He has taught and researched on Business
Ethics at the Universities of Bristol,
Maryland and Essex.
In
1988, Atul founded a global youth movement
called 'Young Jains' which has affiliations
in North America, East Africa, UK and
Australia and is growing.
Atul
has been involved since the outset with
the ‘‘respect’’
project.

"This
conference is so important. I hope it will open up a full
debate on how we can stop the spread of division and fear
and instead harness the immense power of the media to promote
cultural and religious diversity as a positive benefit for
our society."
