| Stephen
Bates is the Guardian's religious affairs
correspondent and also writes about
royalty for the paper. He has been a
journalist for 28 years, working for
a range of media organisations including
the BBC, Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail
and, for the last 14 years, the Guardian.
He also writes extensively
for a range of national and international
British and foreign magazines and is
the author of a forthcoming book on
the crisis over homosexuality in the
Anglican Communion: A Church at War,
to be published by IB Tauris in June.
In
a varied career, Stephen Bates has also
been an education correspondent, political
correspondent and, for five years, the
Guardian's European Affairs Editor,
based in Brussels and reporting on the
European Union.
